Tacos are one of my favorite quick and easy dinners. They’re not fancy — just some meat, spices, cheese and tomatoes in hard shells. Yum. And all my life, I’ve used taco seasoning from a packet.
Until now.
I never realized how easy it is to throw together some homemade taco seasoning. Most of the spices are probably already in your cabinet. You just have to experiment a little with the ratios to find a flavor combination you enjoy. It’s really that simple.
Here’s how I like it, adapted from Tastespotting:
3 parts chili powder
2 parts ground cumin
1 part paprika
½ part cayenne pepper
1 part dried oregano
1 part onion powder
1 part garlic powder
1 part salt
½ part black pepper
Mix all the ingredients together and use however you’d like.
Enjoy!
